I enjoyed doing this project with my friend Danielle. We went to Willow Mill Park since we both enjoy being outdoors. It took about two hours to take all of the pictures, but we had a lot of fun in the process.

My model is my good friend, Danielle. She's a very laid back but super funny and I showed that through the photos. I think that this assignment was a lot of fun and I think that the pictures turned out alright, but could be better. The model thought that they turned out alright too, but her mom loved them. Some things you should do is plan out poses and know how to work your camera. I think that the most challenging part about this assignment was just trying to get the best picture but I like the way the natural light makes the pictures look and how there's different, beautiful backgrounds.

Don't shoot looking up at your subject, but down.
Make the body bend so it doesn't look stiff.
Move yourself around the person and find an angle to make them look best.
You can make any location work.
The best time to shoot is an hour before sunset.

HDR

I think that HDR pictures are awesome since they show the detail in everything and everything just pops.

I always photograph anything outdoors and I wouldn't say they tell a story, but they tell a lot about me and anything outdoors is what I like to photograph.

Where the sun is located really effects what the photo looks like, especially like the last black and white photo. The sun is located behind the trees and it gives it a glowing look behind the trees.

Sketchbook

I chose these pictures because I feel like it represents who I am as a person. I put pictures of my brother and my friends because they mean the world to me and I don't know what I would do without them. Along with those, I used a lot of pictures of nature because I love the way nature looks through the camera.  Everything about nature is beautiful in my eyes and the lighting from the sun makes everything looks so natural and makes things pop. The quote I used was "Another sunrise, another beginning." I love this quote because it's telling you not to live in the past or stress over something that happened in the past. Everyday is a new day, so make it great and don't dwell on the past.

I love the way all these photos look because the colors all stand out more than a typical picture. It's the perfect brightness in every picture to see even the slightest details. The techniques that they use to take the pictures such as framing, leading lines, repetition, etc. enhance them all even more.

HDR Notes:

Allows you to automatically increase the dynamic range of a photo

3 bracketed images (same scene, different exposures)

A lot of people use Photomatix Pro to overlay their pictures and edit them

Tripod needed to stabilize the camera to capture the same three images in different exposures

I picked these locations because they're all important to me. I love being outdoors and taking pictures of anything nature involved.

Summer

I took this picture of my brother when my family and I were staying at a cabin in Forksville, PA with some family friends for a weekend vacation. At the cabin, there's a creek right down the hill so we all go down there during the day. When my brother was playing in the creek I took this picture of him and I really like the way this picture looks because it's really capturing the moment and you can just see the pure happiness.
